Description:
Interpreting the Hair Test: Finding Hidden Toxicities is a practical book. The book begins with a story about how to interpret the hair test for mercury and other heavy metals. It gives a step-by-step discussion of this issue with numbers to make it easy to do. He gives examples using actual hair test results from real people.
Mercury affects how results are obtained for hair elements – mercury is often low, and other minerals take unusual values. For the correct interpretation of the hair test, it is extremely important to know how to recognize the characteristic signature of Mercury. Mercury often causes the retention of certain minerals. Arsenic, antimony, tin, titanium, zirconium, and aluminum are elements that many people save too much of when they really have a problem with mercury. Hair tests are worth doing because a surprising number of people diagnosed with incurable chronic diseases actually end up with a heavy metal problem. Problems with heavy metals are easy to fix. Hair testing reveals the underlying problem, and a chronic health condition often disappears with proper detoxification. The levels of essential elements contain a lot of useful information about hormones, as well as nutrition problems.
A high level of hair doesn’t always mean a high level of body. the interpretation is specific to each element. Some of the essential elements can be toxic if they show high levels of hair, others actually show high levels of hair when the body is deficient and needs more of them. Excessive stress, poor digestion, problems with the adrenal glands and thyroid gland-all this manifests itself in hair tests long before they can be detected by other laboratory methods. There are more than seventy examples of hair tests with source information and interpretation. The book also contains a discussion of what to do based on the test results, for example. how to chelate heavy metals. Like many other clinicians, I have always felt that hair analysis, performed and correctly interpreted, would be invaluable in understanding the toxicity and impaired mineral transport that people with “mental illness,” mental retardation, autism, and chronic physical illnesses will inevitably have.
However, I found that I could not train myself in the” art and science ” of understanding, interpreting, and actually using hair analysis as the cornerstone of a treatment plan. I am so grateful that finally this book by Andy Cutler will help me begin to understand the complex relationship of the variables involved in interpreting the hair test.
As with Dr. Cutler’s previous work (diagnosis and treatment of amalgam diseases), this is not just a book that you sit down and ” read.” You should study it and spend time with it to make it and yourself fair. I am overwhelmed by the work, research, analysis, and synthesis included in this book. Great for parents of sick children and adults who have not been helped by “normal” tests and approaches.
Also, great for those doctors/practitioners who find hair analysis “useless” or unreliable. Maybe this is because the interpretation of the results is not linear. Maybe once someone helps you understand the logic and see the patterns, the wisdom will finally begin to manifest. It’s like a giant scientific discovery that is focused and interpreted for all of us: medical professionals, parents of sick children and adults with chronic diseases. Unlike anything else. It is strongly recommended to read to anyone who is engaged in helping someone regain their lost health, stolen by toxins.
