Todd Eibes, M.D., FACS graduate from the University of Iowa, Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa. He completed his surgical residency at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgeons. Dr. Eibes began a career in gneral surgery in Grinnell in 1999. He started performing bariatric surgery in 2001. He had the opportunity to reopen the bariatric program at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines in 2006 after it had been closed. He developed the UnityPoint Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery accredited by the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and was director from 2006-2014. He left UnityPoint to establish the Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery at Iowa Specialty Hospital and has been the director since 2014.
